Wayne Jefferson Berry II
Dr. Berry graduated from Hampden-Sydney College with a BA in French and a BS in Biology. He then went to Eastern Virginia Medical School on an Army scholarship and graduated with an MD. While in med school, he met his wife, Beth and they have been married for 39 years.
After a successful residency training program he served as a Flight Surgeon and chief medical officer for a US Army unit focused on intelligence and special operations. He has been a Medical Director and President of his Emergency Medicine group and continues practice in Virginia. He and Beth are excited to be part of the group that now owns and is renovating and updating the Empire Bank building in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
Samantha Athey
Samantha Athey was born in North Carolina to her parents Dr. Jeff Berry and Dr. Beth Berry and her 12 siblings. She worked in sales 10 years while also investing in real estate and renovation restoration for the Winchester Virginia community. Founding member of Nesting Owl, alongside Geremey Engle, Samantha Athey is now focused on bringing the business frontier to Clarksburg West Virginia. She now resides in West Virginia with her husband Kevin Athey and with Nesting Owl Samantha Athey and her partners are motivated and excited to be a part of the Clarksburg community.
Geremey Engle and Family
Geremey Engle is a dynamic and multifaceted professional from Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Married to Erin Engle, who is currently pursuing a medical degree, they are parents to a daughter born in June 2023 and are expecting another child in the summer of 2024. Geremey leads a life full of personal and professional achievements. The family shares a passion for high-altitude hiking, having conquered Mt Aconcagua in Argentina, the highest peak outside of Asia at 22,837 feet. They also enjoy relaxed beach vacations and Geremey is an avid listener of self-help business books.
Geremey’s entrepreneurial spirit is evident in his role as CEO of Ellingwood Pro LLC, a multi-state home inspection business. Under his leadership, the company has seen expansion across West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, and Tennessee. His expertise in strategic investment, syndication, and project management is further demonstrated in his real estate ventures with Ellingwood Properties and his co-ownership in CAGE LLC. Through these enterprises, he has skillfully managed a variety of real estate assets, achieving significant growth and maintaining strong tenant relations. His role at Nesting Owl LLC, managing a mixed-use building with residential and commercial spaces, showcases his versatility and leadership skills.
In addition to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Geremey also holds Rotary Wing Pilots license and is also an accomplished academic, anticipating the completion of his Masters in Emergency and Disaster Management in the fall of 2024. His background as a member of the West Virginia Air National Guard Security Forces, with deployments to Baghdad, Iraq, and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, adds to his diverse skill set. This military experience, combined with his success in real estate and property management, underscores Geremey’s versatility as a leader adept in navigating complex environments and driving operational excellence.
Clint Athey
Clint Athey, a native of Keyser, WV, is a seasoned financial expert with a strong academic foundation. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Shepherd University and went on to attain a Masters Degree in Accounting from WVU. Further solidifying his expertise, Clint holds a Masters Certificate in Fraud and Forensic Accounting from WVU, demonstrating his commitment to staying current in the industry.
With a military career, Clint retired as a Master Sergeant in the WV Air National Guard. His military service instilled in him values of discipline and leadership, which have proven valuable in his financial management career.
Professionally, Clint is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), bringing over 13 years of experience in public accounting. His expertise lies in financial analysis, auditing, and fraud detection, making him a trusted advisor for clients seeking financial guidance.
Beyond the professional sphere, Clint is a keen adventurer. He has 26 ascents above 14,000 feet. He is also an avid cyclist, kayaker, SCUBA diver, and even alligator wrestler.
